Kit of the Week #1: Leeds United Away by Kappa

In the first of what may become a weekly series (well the title would suggest so eh readers?), we choose a shirt that caught our eye in the last 7 days.

Marcelo Bielsa seems to have taken the adjustment to Yorkshire life in his stride with Leeds United making the early waves in the Championship.

United have maximum points from their first 2 matches having soundly dispatched of Stoke City at Elland Road and thrashed Frank Lampard’s Derby County in their own backyard.

Kemar Roofe starred as Leeds beat Frank Lampard’s Derby County 4-1 at Pride Park, with the Peacocks wearing a bold new away kit by Kappa.

Bielsa may still be working on his English, but the legendary Argentine coach has certainly got United doing his talking for him on the pitch.

Released in the run-up to the game, the dark blue shirts with a unique graphic pattern slicing across the shirt in electric yellow, white and shades of blue, will go down in history if Leeds can maintain their early-season form and gain promotion back to the Premier League.

The new kits come complete with obligatory online gaming firm as sponsor, and offer a slightly roomier fit for supporters than the standard skin-tight player issue kits Kappa seem to favour.

This is not the first time Leeds United have worn navy blue and there will be those who’d prefer yellow shirts, but for a resounding break from the routine; this striking new kit is our first Sartorial Soccer Kit of the Week.

Peacocks by name, peacocking by nature!
