It’s beginning to look, and indeed smell, a lot like Christmas here at Sartorial Soccer Towers.
So we were naturally thrilled to see Cremonese take a seasonal stab at our Kit of the Week title with this festive football shirt that just screams, “no Dad, please don’t make me wear it!”
Supplied by Italian teamwear specialists and heroes of the Classic Football Shirts clearance section, Acerbis, this strip featured in i Grigiorossi‘s 3-2 Serie B victory over Crotone on Friday night.
Worn with their usual shorts and socks, their novelty outfield shirts were a seasonal adaptation of Cremonese’s red and grey colours, with the goalkeeper top coming in traditional green and white.
Each of the designs comes complete with snowflakes and candy canes to spare, as the special Nordic-style shirts bought to mind ski chalets, mulled wine and snug, family occasions around an open fire.
This is the fifth year the club have worn a Christmas-themed outfit and once again, Cremonese’s kit will go on sale exclusively to in-person punters at their club store, with all proceeds from the €150 shirts going towards projects supporting opportunities for young people.
So after that tribute to a yuletide, Ho-Ho-Home shirt, we’d love to wish all our friends and followers a very Merry Christmas and a safe, healthy and prosperous Happy New Year for 2022!🎅
